Assistant Professor
University of Hyderabad, School of Physics
Dr. Gorige joined the School of Physics, University of Hyderabad in December 2013 and his research oriented towards Magnetic Materials & Multiferroics. Particularly, manipulation of magnetism in Ferromagnetic/Ferroelectric heterostructured thin films and bulk composites by thermal and electrical means via magnetoelastic coupling without using any electric currents and realizing device applications at ultra-low energy consumption.
After receiving PhD degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad in 2007, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Department of Physics, National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan for about two and half years. Subsequently, he was awarded JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship for FY 2010, by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science to work in Japan. Therefore, in connection with JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship, he moved to the Laboratory for Materials and Structures, Institute of Innovative Research, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo and worked with Prof. Tomoyasu Taniyama for a period of two years. After returning from Japan, he was a CSIR Senior Research Associate at Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and he was working with Prof. P. S. Anil Kumar before joining the School of Physics, University of Hyderabad.
