PHYSICS LAB MANUALS

Reflectance and Transmission

  1. Don’t let laser light fall into your eyes.
  2. Block all unused reflected laser beams.
  3. Tighten the mounts after adjustments and experiments.
  4. Do not switch off or on the electronics directly from the mains.
  5. Don’t touch the optical surfaces directly with hand i.e. glass plate and the polarizer for this experiment.
  6. For reflectance measurement, the photodiode has to be moved each time the angle of incidence is changed. Make sure to get a maximum reading on the photodiode, slightly adjust it up & down to get the maximum reading.
