Specific Heat Capacity - Method of mixtures

When a body gains or loses energy in a thermal process, we find experimentally that the temperature change of the body is proportional to its change in energy. Specific heat capacity of an object is given by –

S = Q / (m * ΔT)

Where, Q = heat transferred, m = mass of material, ΔT = change in temperature

Latent heat is given by –

$$ L = \frac{Q}{m} $$

Where, Q = heat required for phase change without changing temperature, m = mass
